A community-led organisation dedicated to supporting Ukrainians living in Devon and across the South West of England. Founded in response to the war in Ukraine, DUA has grown into a trusted hub of cultural, educational, emotional and practical support for displaced Ukrainians, whilst fostering deeper understanding between communities in the UK and Ukraine.


A partnership of grassroots community organisations delivering events and activities across Devon.


Work with local businesses, including self-employed people and non-profit organisations, to find the right guidance and support to help their business work smarter and develop. Supporting both established and aspiring entrepreneurs, with a focus on those in the BAME Community.


Free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. These informal classes, taught by volunteer teachers, are open to everyone who wants to improve their English, to make new friends and to share their ideas and experiences with other people from around the world. Classes run throughout the school year and are available for all levels from Beginner to Advanced.


Volunteers chat with people whose first language is not English, learning about their cultures and answering questions about the British way of life with all its little peculiarities! There’s no charge to join the group (though a £1 donation for tea/coffee/biscuit is appreciated) so come along and have a chat. You can even ask about the weather, if you like!


Fosters spiritual development and creates a sense of belonging for its diverse members. Offers daily prayers, Jumu'ah (Friday) prayers and Eid celebrations. Hosts lectures and discussions on Islamic topics, identity, and current events, workshops and interfaith activities, welcoming all. Involved in general charitable purposes, poverty relief, and education/training.


The choir is free to attend and welcomes all speakers of other languages to join in a celebration of music, dance, and cultural exchange exploring songs from around the world, creating a fun space where guests can share and learn about each other's musical traditions. Every Friday, 1-3pm at St Sidwell's Community Centre.

A community-led organisation which holds and facilitates activities and events to improve relationships between communities and local and national services, fostering better integration and reduced isolation.


Drop-In Support Service for people from ethnically diverse communities/people whose first language isn’t English; who may struggle with filling in forms or accessing mainstream services. People from ethnically diverse backgrounds can often face challenges like language and social barriers, as well as not being overly familiar with the bureaucratic systems of mainstream services.


Running a number of physical activities encouraging people to make physical activities a regular part of their routine, thus improving their physical and mental wellbeing. Particularly encouraging people from diverse ethnic and cultural heritage to join in.


Meets at St Leonard's Church in term time 4pm-5.30pm each Sunday, and at other times during the summer. Learn about British culture, traditions and life in Exeter. Come and practise your English with native speakers and other internationals. All levels of English welcome.


A community of Italians living in Devon interested in Italian culture and keeping Italian culture alive. They organise social events related to Italian language and food sharing, Italian music and dance workshops and music evenings with invited Italian artists.


A hub for cultural, social and political activities of Kurds in Devon. They aim to be a bridge between Kurds and all other ethnic groups living in Devon and help encourage the Kurdish community to integrate within wider society. They promote Kurdish culture, assist with access to services and education and organise Kurdish social and educational activities.


A bi-weekly project for the asylum seeking community in Exeter offering a welcoming space for them to cook together. Many of these people do not have the facilities to cook in the hotel where they are housed; Park Life was able to offer a space for them to come together and cook with fresh ingredients which can be taken back to their family and community.


Creating welcoming spaces for people starting anew, prioritising wellbeing and health through information, resources, pastoral care, and supportive networks to ensure beneficiaries’ health and happiness throughout their transition.


Connecting mixed heritage and global majority families across Devon. Organise regular family meetups which uplift and celebrate diverse heritages across the group and help families feel part of a vibrant, supportive community.


Delivering interpretation and translation services for public service providers, schools, groups and individuals. Provide services in over 100 languages. Interpreters are trained and DBS checked. Most are native speakers with a BA or higher university degree from their own country.


Supports Nigerians in Exeter by promoting personal development, career progression, and strong community connections. Sharing information on global and UK opportunities, offering life coaching and skills workshops, supporting career decision-making, facilitating professional networking, and helping newcomers settle and understand UK systems and laws.


Welcoming internationals, asylum seekers and migrants to the South West. They teach English, build community and signpost to services. In addition they support churches and communities in doing local outreach. Also runs the Exeter International Cafe at various church locations across Exeter.


Works to eliminate racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity and positive relations across Devon. Supporting communities through benefit and debt advice, tailored support for women, domestic violence support, hate crime reporting and victim care, plus education advice for parents.


Supporting clients in feeling safe and more settled in Devon during their journey as asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants.


The aim of the society is to create a cultural, social, and mutual support network for Devon and Cornwall’s increasingly large South Asian community. It has a wide membership base of people who are drawn from countries surrounding the Indian sub-continent or are part of the Asian Diaspora.


Designed to enable people to grow ‘crops from home’ which may not grow easily outside in the British climate, as well meet people from different communities. It uses a poly tunnel to create the conditions for crops from other parts of the world, so they can be grown here. Meeting Tuesdays 10am-1pm, based at Plot 80 on the Prince Charles Road Allotment site.
