A community-led organisation dedicated to supporting Ukrainians living in Devon and across the South West of England. Founded in response to the war in Ukraine, DUA has grown into a trusted hub of cultural, educational, emotional and practical support for displaced Ukrainians, whilst fostering deeper understanding between communities in the UK and Ukraine.

Free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. These informal classes, taught by volunteer teachers, are open to everyone who wants to improve their English, to make new friends and to share their ideas and experiences with other people from around the world. Classes run throughout the school year and are available for all levels from Beginner to Advanced.


Volunteers chat with people whose first language is not English, learning about their cultures and answering questions about the British way of life with all its little peculiarities! There’s no charge to join the group (though a £1 donation for tea/coffee/biscuit is appreciated) so come along and have a chat. You can even ask about the weather, if you like!


The choir is free to attend and welcomes all speakers of other languages to join in a celebration of music, dance, and cultural exchange exploring songs from around the world, creating a fun space where guests can share and learn about each other's musical traditions. Every Friday, 1-3pm at St Sidwell's Community Centre.

Bringing together groups and individuals from ethnically diverse communities across the city of Exeter and beyond. A community-led organisation which holds and facilitates activities and events to improve relationships between communities and local and national services, fostering better integration and reduced isolation.


Drop-In Support Service for people from ethnically diverse communities/people whose first language isn’t English; who may struggle with filling in forms or accessing mainstream services. People from ethnically diverse backgrounds can often face challenges like language and social barriers, as well as not being overly familiar with the bureaucratic systems of mainstream services.


Running a number of physical activities encouraging people to make physical activities a regular part of their routine, thus improving their physical and mental wellbeing. Particularly encouraging people from diverse ethnic and cultural heritage to join in.


A bi-weekly project for the asylum seeking community in Exeter offering a welcoming space for them to cook together. Many of these people do not have the facilities to cook in the hotel where they are housed; Park Life was able to offer a space for them to come together and cook with fresh ingredients which can be taken back to their family and community.


Connecting mixed heritage and global majority families across Devon. Organise regular family meetups which uplift and celebrate diverse heritages across the group and help families feel part of a vibrant, supportive community.


Supporting clients in feeling safe and more settled in Devon during their journey as asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants.


Designed to enable people to grow ‘crops from home’ which may not grow easily outside in the British climate, as well meet people from different communities. It uses a poly tunnel to create the conditions for crops from other parts of the world, so they can be grown here. Meeting Tuesdays 10am-1pm, based at Plot 80 on the Prince Charles Road Allotment site.
